The plain-language version is on the left. The legal version is on the right. If they conflict, the legal version is the one that's legally binding, but we'll try to keep them in sync.
What we collect
Plain English
The email you sign up with, anything you post in your care circles, anything you post in the community, and a few technical details about how you use the app (like what device you're on). We don't collect anything from your phone's contacts, calendar, camera, or photos unless you explicitly attach something to a post.
Legal version
Rallykin collects the following categories of personal information: (a) account information, including email address; (b) content you provide, including posts, messages, and attached media; (c) usage information, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, and device identifiers; and (d) cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Notice.
How we use it
Plain English
We use it to run the app. That means showing your posts to the right people, sending you notifications about replies, keeping spam out, and fixing things when they break. We don't use your data to train AI models and we don't sell it to advertisers.
Legal version
We process personal information to: provide and maintain the Service; authenticate users; deliver content and notifications; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; comply with legal obligations; and, where permitted, conduct analytics to improve the Service. We do not sell personal information. We do not use user content to train machine learning models.
Who can see what
Plain English
Posts in a care circle are visible only to members of that circle. Posts in the community are visible to other logged-in Rallykin members. Nothing you post is visible to search engines. Anonymous posts hide your identity from other members but not from our moderators.
Legal version
Care circle content is accessible only to authenticated members of the circle and authorized Rallykin personnel for operational, security, and legal purposes. Community content is accessible to authenticated Rallykin users. All content is excluded from public search engine indexing via robots directives. Anonymous posting obscures user identity from other community members but not from Rallykin's internal moderation and safety teams.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data at any time. You can delete your account at any time. If you're in California or the EU, you have additional rights under CCPA and GDPR respectively, including the right to request specific categories of information and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@rallykin.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain it longer (for example, financial records for tax purposes).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard authentication and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will notify you within 72 hours of discovering any breach that affects your account.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll email you and show a notice in the app before they take effect. You'll always have 30 days to review changes and decide whether to keep using Rallykin.
