Caregiver support communities compared

Talking with people who have been through the same thing can help more than any app feature. Here is where family caregivers find each other online, what each place does well, and how to choose.

Rallykin community

A forum organized by caregiving topic, next to the private Care Circles your family uses. It is new, so it is quieter than the big platforms for now.

Good at

  • Topics like dementia, sandwich generation, money, self-care, and end of life
  • Posts marked as a question, a vent, or a celebration, with reactions that fit
  • Post anonymously, and mark the reply that helped most
Pricing:
Free to read and post.
Best for:
Caregivers who want support and family coordination in one place.

AgingCare forum

agingcare.com

A busy question-and-answer forum for family caregivers, part of AgingCare.com, which also helps families find in-home care and assisted living.

Good at

  • Questions sorted by topic, from dementia to care decisions
  • Active, with new answers through the day
  • Caregiving guides on the same site
Pricing:
Free.
Best for:
Specific, practical questions about an aging parent’s care.

Facebook groups

Many caregiver support groups, some public and some private, often focused on one condition or situation.

Good at

  • Groups for nearly every condition and situation
  • Private groups where only members see posts
  • You may already use Facebook every day
Pricing:
Free.
Best for:
Finding a group for a specific condition or role.

Caregiving communities where people post under a username instead of their real name, with replies around the clock.

Good at

  • Large, active communities for caregiving and specific conditions
  • Usernames make it easier to be honest
  • Years of past threads to search
Pricing:
Free.
Best for:
Venting or asking honest questions with some distance from your real name.

Details checked against each product's own website in September 2026. Features and prices change, so confirm on their sites.

How to choose

If you need an answer fast

The biggest communities answer quickest. Reddit, Facebook groups, and the AgingCare forum have far more people reading at any hour than Rallykin does today.

If privacy matters

Reddit usernames and Rallykin’s anonymous posts keep your real name off what you share. On Facebook, posts in a group usually show your profile, so choose private groups carefully.

If you also coordinate care with family

Rallykin keeps the community next to your family’s private Care Circle, so the tasks, the updates, and your conversations with other caregivers are in one place.

If someone is in danger

No online community is a crisis service. Call or text 988, or call 911 for immediate danger. Our crisis resources page lists more helplines.
