What does posting anonymously mean?

Updated Jul 17, 2026 · 3 minute read

Anonymous posting lets you share something with the community without showing your name, photo, or profile. Other members see the post as “Anonymous Member” and can't click through to your account.

You can choose anonymous mode whenever you write a new post. It's there whenever you need it.

What stays anonymous

When you post anonymously, these things are hidden from other members:

  • Your real name and username
  • Your profile photo
  • Your account page (no one can click through to it from the post)
  • Your posting history (nobody can find your other posts from this one)

What still happens

A few things work the same as any other post:

  • Replies to your post still reach you, they just come to your Rallykin inbox like normal.
  • Reactions from other members still show up on your post.
  • You can still reply to your own post. Choose anonymous mode separately for each reply.

Who can see who I am

Rallykin moderators can see the account behind an anonymous post. This is only used for safety and moderation: to investigate reports, respond to concerns about harm, or comply with legal requests. We never share this information with other community members.

If you're in a situation where you need true anonymity (for example, from a specific person you're worried about), we'd encourage you to use a separate email address for your Rallykin account. Our privacy page has more on how we handle account data.

How to post anonymously

When you're writing a new post, use the “Post anonymously” choice before you submit. Check the identity shown in the composer so you know how the post will appear.

Choose carefully: a published post cannot later be switched between anonymous and identified. You can still edit its title and content or delete it.
